How to make a catapult
The only "problem" with actually making a working medieval catapult is that many of the people who have an interest have no experience in engineering and have not built anything in the past. Though, you should not give up how to make a catapult. For this reason, I will be focusing on how you, as a complete beginner, can successfully build a working model of a medieval catapult. This is easy way to learn how to make a catapult
To accomplish this goal we will be taking full advantage of resources that are available which you may not know about.
The steps for how to make a catapult
1. Make a complete cut through each of the three rubber bands. Each rubber band should stay in one piece.
2. Staple one rubber band to another. Put two rubber bands in the stapler side-by-side, not on top of each other.
3. Staple the rubber band string to the tops of the handle.
4. Attach the handle securely onto a small wheeled platform. You can construct this platform or use anything small with wheels, like a child\'s pull toy made from wood.
5. Use books, legs, blocks, or anything else to make a building like construction in the shape of a cube.
6. Take a small rock, Lego, or anything in that similar shape as a projectile.
7. Hold the projectile to the rubber bands.
8. Pull the rubber bands back.
9. Release all.
Other steps on how to make a catapult
Things you’ll need to make a catapult:
· Rubber bands
· Soft leather
· Wood
Step 1 on how to make a catapult:
Remove bark from a "Y"-shaped piece of wood.
Step 2 on how to make a catapult:
Sand off bumps or sharp edges from the wood so it becomes smooth.
Step 3 on how to make a catapult:
Dry the wood. Cut two big rubber bands to have two lengths of strong elastic material. Each of these lengths forms side-band of the catapult.
Step 4 on how to make a catapult:
Use smaller rubber bands to secure one end of the cut rubber band to an arm of the Y-shaped wood. Use multiple rubber bands to secure it properly. Do the same for other side of the catapult.
Step 5 on how to make a catapult:
Make a sling or a pocket in which to hold the projectile. Cut the piece of soft leather. The sling should taper down the ends and be widest in the middle.
Step 6 on how to make a catapult:
Take smaller rubber bands to connect one end of the sling with loose end of one of the catapult bands. Use multiple rubber bands, if required.
Step 7 on how to make a catapult:
Attach the other end of the sling to the second end of the catapult. Use smaller rubber bands to do so.
Step 8 on how to make a catapult:
Test your catapult. Hold the handle of the catapult in front of you; load a pebble or a small object in the sling. Pull the sling back as far as possible, aim and release it to see the projectile being hurled away.
