Warts are generally small, rough, cauliflower-like growths, typically on hands and feet. Warts are common, and are caused by a viral infection, specifically by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Some scientists believe they are also caused by stress. They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can recur. A few Papilloma viruses are known to cause cancer. Certain types of warts such as genital warts can be contagious.
Tips on how to remove warts
There are a number of treatments available for warts on the face and elsewhere. The following treatments are suitable to remove warts from face, hands, arms, legs, and other body parts. Note that genital warts may require different treatment.
Salicylic acid is found in many over-the-counter medications. It removes the dead skin cells of the warts and causes the wart to fall off eventually. It can take several weeks for the wart of fall off. You should see a doctor before using these products to make sure you have a wart and not something more serious. These products should not be used on plantar warts.
Cryotherapy involves freezing the wart with liquid nitrogen. Other medical treatments involve surgically removing the wart or removing it with laser treatment. Many people prefer not to use these treatments to remove warts from face, because they can leave a scar. These treatments can be painful, as well.
To avoid painful treatments and scarring, more and more people are turning to natural products to treat their warts, particularly face warts where scars would be most noticeable.
Others’ opinion on how to remove warts
1. Using over the counter medicines are a good way to get rid of a wart but it takes usually about twelve weeks.
2. Soak your foot in water or water with Epsom salt (can be bought at any drug store).
3. Scrape off all dead skin on the wart area.
4. Add the patch and put the bandage (or whatever cover they provide) over it.
5. Repeat steps daily. Do not remove the patch; keep it on for about a week, which smothers the wart and in result takes a lot less time.
6. When applying the patch and the cover, wash your foot with a washcloth to remove any dirt on your foot that could cause the patch to come off.
7. After applying the patch and the cover, press it onto your foot as hard as you can and try to shape it to the shape of your foot.
8. When removing your sock or shoe, make sure that it does not scrape any part of the patch or cover off your foot.
