How to set up xbox live
A router connection is typically the best way to connect to Xbox Live as you can your PC and your Xbox cheer up can use your Internet service at the same time. See Choose a Connection type to find out if a router connection will work with your modem. Ensure you use a router that works with Xbox Live.
How to set up xbox live step 1 - Before you attach any cables turn off your Xbox console, broad band router, broad band modem, and PC. Unplug your modem from power to turn it off.
How to set up xbox live step 2 - Take an Ethernet cable and attach one end to the Ethernet out port on the modem and the other end to the Ethernet in or WAN port on the router.
How to set up xbox live step 3 - Take another Ethernet cable and attach one end to one of the Ethernet out ports on the router and the other end to the Ethernet port on the PC NIC.

Step 6 - Make sure that your PC can access the Internet. If not, the router may need a specific pattern to let your PC access the Internet. Check the router documentation for help configuring the router using your PC.
Step 7 - Turn on your Xbox console with no disc in the disc tray.
Step 8 - From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Xbox Live. Or, play a game on your Xbox Live Starter Kit disc and choose the option for Xbox Live play
