How to stop loving someone

When we fall in true love, we open ourselves to a part of ourselves that is far much bigger and more powerful than just our mind, will and emotions. But because our understanding of this “thing called love’ is so limited (mind, will and emotions) we attach love to a particular person, someone outside of us. We see that person as a love object instead of a reflection of ourselves, a possession to hold onto instead of a conduit for the expression of the love within us.

Steps for How to stop loving someone:

1.Don\'t email, IM , phone, or even say hi, it will open wounds that you are trying to close. Don\'t answer calls from them either.

2.Tell him/her that it\'s over just to be sure so he doesn\'t still ponder on the idea and make a stupid decision to try to undo everything you\'ve done. If he/she broke up with you, then leave it, give them the time they need for themselves and maybe you can be platonic friends in the future. Usually relationships happen for a reason.

3.Realize that you two weren\'t meant for each other, so the sooner you give him up, the sooner you can find the guy who is.

4.Get rid of all memories of him as hard as it seems. This will help so much.

5.Know you can do it. Once you\'ve started, just keep on going.

6.Close the book; you have many potential soul mates and reminiscing about the past only means you\'re not happy with your own life, not because you are without a partner.

7.Keep away from all the stuff that will remind you of your ex like stuff toys, pillows, accessories, pictures, cards, letters, etc.

8.Stop mentioning his or her name! this will surely help if you want to know How to stop loving someone.

9.Organize as many things as possible in your social diary, the more you have to occupy you, the less time you\'ll have to dwell on the past.

10.If you still feel upset about the past relationship, try talking to someone like a friend or a counselor to help along the process of getting over them.

Tips for How to stop loving someone:

find a friend to gush everything out to.Or if he/she is into talking things out then just let EVERYTHING out even the littest things can make a difference. Sometimes it can take a while for everything to make its way out but afterwords both of you will feel alot better. Usually it can take about four days per month together. Just make sure you don\'t get annoying, if you do, it\'s a good idea to find a journal to write your feelings in.

get your friends in on helping you.

make a list of all the things you\'ve always wanted to do, and do them. you don\'t need a man/woman in your life to make you happy, and some time with yourself will help you to appreciate yourself.

Ask yourself why you want them, is it because you\'re lonely and want someone, anyone to keep you company and to have fun with? You don\'t need a man/woman to do that, a platonic friend is all you need.

Don\'t go on the rebound and get with the first person you find. You won\'t be happy and you\'ll be comparing your new partner to your last because you didn\'t have enough time to get over them and start afresh
